Eventually

Eventually I'll get around to recording episode 13 aka the Halloween episode. Life has been hectic, and I've been lazy.

Episode 12 is live

Episode 12 is finally up after I've been slacking for the last two months. It's the first video podcast, and hopefully not the last. The video quality didn't turn out as well as I hoped. Oh well. I'm planing on recording episode 13 later this week in order to have it up by Saturday for Halloween. Episode 13 will consist of a review of Resident Evil DS (one of the first review requests) and Dementium: The Ward. Both fit quite well with the Halloween theme.

I will try to post more often (like tomorrow). Until then.

Almost with the program

Well, it's about time I post again. I'm hoping to get with the program and post more often. Coming up in the next few weeks is the first video episode, along with a special Halloween episode.

Next week, I'll have my review of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Until then.

MIA

Well, its been a little over a month since I last posted here. Sorry about that. I really need to remember to stop neglecting this site...or I need to combine a few sites...oh well. Anyways, things have been a little busy and a little slow. I know, I know...it doesn't make much sense, but at the same time it does.

Anyways, enough of my ramblings. Lately I've been playing Rhythm Heaven, and I now have proof that I have no rhythm! Some say I do have rhythm, but they were wrong. Anyways, I'm rambling again. Next Monday, I'll upload episode 11 (review of Rhythm Heaven). From there, I'm not sure what I'll review next...nobody has made any requests (well, actually a request has been made, but that one being saved for Halloween).

Well...I think that's all for this post. I'll try to remember to update again next week (or this weekend, depending on what's going on at the time).

A Feeling Like Traitor

Well, I've been following E3 closely, and I have to say, I feel like a traitor. I've always been a hardcore, Nintendo to the bone fan, but after seeing some of the stuff of E3, I'm kinda liking Sony and what they have in mind. Yes, Nintendo does have some cool games coming for the Wii, like another Zelda and Metroid, a version of New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Galaxy 2.

However, Nintendo did make one big anouncement (only one in my opinion) for the DS. They have anounced that Golden Sun DS will be coming spring 2010. All I can say is about time! I've been waiting for another Golden Sun. Golden Sun was the best RPG series I have played. Yes, I have played the Final Fantasy games, but I thought Golden Sun was better.

I'll keep you posted if I have any more news.

The Tragedy of Episode #4

Well, my lovely recording software, Audacity, and Vista do not get along too well, and as a result, the audio for episode #4 was corrupted. One just has to love technology (*cough* all Windows fault *cough*)! Anyhow, I will be rerecording Episode #4 tonight, and I may upload it tonight. However, I may just decide to upload it when I upload episode #5.

On a side note, I haven't actually decided what game I'll review. Any one have some ideas for me. I have some planned for a future date, but I'm saving them for then. I guess if I dug through my game collection, I'm sure I could find one to review. Maybe I'll review the DSi/DSi Pro, or Pokemon Pearl/Platinum, or...That's it! I've got it!

Contra 4! Dun-dun-dun....

Also, a new section that I'll be adding to my podcast is Tips & Tricks. So if anyone out there has some bumper ideas for the Tips and Tricks section, I'm interested. Until next time!

Help Needed

Well, I've officially decided that I will not be posting any typed reviews on this site, or my main site due to being too busy to do so. However, I do need some help.

I'm looking to record four DS screens at the same time. If anyone knows of a way besides a complex set up of four cameras on tripods, I'd be interested in hearing. Or, if anyone knows how Nintendo and them do it for their game play trailers, that would be nice too.

Update

Wow. I have been slacking for a while. Since the last post, I have uploaded the first two episodes into iTunes and began recording episode 3, which will be a review of The World Ends With You.

I will keep this blog going. However, it will not be with any new review content. My main site for the review content will now be wheelsdsreview.com. This blog will become a more laid back area where I'll post news about what I'm playing and what not.

Until next Monday.

So Sorry

I am so sorry. I have failed. I meant to upload the XML and the first episode this weekend to make it available to everyone. Unfortunately, my weekend was busy, and I was an idiot and didn't save the changes I made to the XML, so I need to redo some of it. Ya gotta love Windows.

Hopefully, the XML will be up this week.

Review Schedule

I've finally decided, I will review one game every two weeks. I do this because things are busy in my life, and I need time to actually play the game before I review it.

Working on intro music

Well, I'm currently working on some intro music for the podcast along with the XML. I haven't decided on what I'll be using as my intro music, but I've come up with some ideas to play with and spark my creativity (even though I have issues with things being perfect).

As soon as I can get them uploaded to either here or my server, I will let everyone know. In the meantime, I'll continue exploring the intro possibilities and finishing the XML.

Back Soon

Sorry I've been gone so long, but things have been a little crazy in my life. Hopefully, that will change soon. I've recorded the second episode of DS Review and am now in the middle of editing it.

Send in your requests for game reviews or your review of a game to wheels.dsreview@gmail.com and I'll feature it on my next episode.

Until next time (hopefully soon). Laters!

Cover Art

Well, my cover art for my podcast is now complete. It was designed by DoodleSong, since I'm neither skilled in Photoshop. Nor do I have the patience to make one that I liked.

Mario Kart DS

So, I finished recording my first review last night. However, I only reviewed one game. I know, I know, you're saying, 'Wheels! You promised us two game reviews a week!' I had some complications with my recording software and had to rerecord from scratch. I will try to review two games next week. So, without further ado, I present to my review of...

Mario Kart DS!

After playing Mario Kart, I have decided to rate this game in the following categories:
Controls
Graphics
Difficulty
Replay Value

The Controls are easy to learn and easy to master. 5/5 wheels.
The Graphics are not the best, but not the worst. 4/5 wheels.
The Difficulty of Mario Kart starts out relatively easy, but gradually increases in difficulty. 4/5 wheels.
Finally, the Replay Value was hard to decide on. If you have other people to compete against, this game has amazing replay value. However, if you don't, then the replay value is not very high. 3/5 wheels.

Overall, Mario Kart DS receives:

My complete audio review will be posted shortly.

If you have any questions, comments, or games that you would like me to review, email them to:
wheels.dsreview@gmail.com

See ya next week. I'll try to update every Saturday.
